Rhôd is an artist-run project exploring and promoting urban-rural dialogue. Taking its name from the sixteenth century water-mill in which it is based (Rhod is Welsh for water-wheel and also ‘the wheel of the heavens’) the project involves an annual exhibition held in the building and grounds of Melin Glonc, an 11 acre site of woods, meadow and water gardens  around the mill building in Drefelin, Carmarthenshire. The emphasis of Rhôd is on the creation of new site-specific artworks in a variety of media, including sculpture, installation, performance, sonic art, relational /participatory art, and video. Rhôd is an annual exhibition / event that takes place in rural West Wales, UK. Rhôd was formed in 2009 by Roger Lougher and Mike Murray.
The Rhôd Committee selects curators for the main annual exhibition and oversees the organisation of the event at Melin Glonc. The group also arrange symposia, talks and presentations that aim to open further dialogue and conversation.
The Rhôd Artists Group (RhAG) includes the wider family of Rhôd artists that have exhibited at the mill. RhAG has been part of various projects including Rhodio at the Venice Biennale in 2010, The Tannery residency in Machynlleth in 2012 and Made in Roath festival 2013.
